Nintendo’s 30-year history in gaming will be on full display during B/R Gaming’s most ambitious event of the year, a four-night celebration of Nintendo games and systems -- B/R Gaming’s Nintendo Switch Winter Challenge. Hosted by gaming personality Erin Ashley Simon and former NFL wide receiver Jordan Kent, the event will feature teams that include SNL star Melissa Villaseñor and New York Mets pitcher Trevor May, competing in some classic Nintendo games from the Nintendo Entertainment System to Nintendo Switch while raising money for charity.

B/R Gaming’s Nintendo Switch Winter Challenge will be the marquee gaming event of the holiday season airing on TBS Monday, Dec. 20 through Thursday Dec. 23. The first three episodes will air at 12 a.m. ET with the finale airing at 11 PM ET.

Two teams of four competitors each will compete across a variety of Nintendo games for bragging rights and contributions to their team’s chosen charity organization. Villaseñor and May will join a roster of competitors representing the breadth of video game fandom with MysticHWD7, Cupahnoodle, JD Witherspoon, Brittney Elena, Roger DiLuigi, and Trisha Hershberger driving gameplay through three decades of Nintendo games. Each round will take viewers on a journey through Nintendo history, featuring a variety of challenges from different generations of games from some of the company’s most iconic franchises, including Excitebike, Metroid, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario Odyssey, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Splatoon 2, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario Party Superstars. Some of these games will be played through the Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Nintendo 64 libraries of classic games on the Nintendo Switch system, which are playable with a Nintendo Switch Online or Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

B/R Gaming’s Nintendo Switch Winter Challenge will be supported across the B/R app and social channels in and around the episodes to help fuel conversation and engagement. It is an immediate follow-up to B/R Gaming’s 100x100, doubling down on the B/R Gaming brand’s unique ability to tap into gaming culture and use its platforms across linear and digital channels to reach fans.
