Ernie Johnson and Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez to Provide Commentary for Mets/Braves

MLB on TBS’s Opening Weekend Coverage – Yankees vs. Nationals – is Network’s Most-Watched Regular Season Telecast Since 2015

MLB on TBS – coming off of last Sunday’s most-watched regular season telecast in five years – will continue weekly 2020 regular season game coverage this weekend.  NL East rivals will meet – the New York Mets and reigning Rookie of the Year Pete Alonso vs. the Atlanta Braves and Ronald Acuña, Jr. Sunday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. ET, with Ernie Johnson and Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez calling game action.  The TBS game telecast will not be available locally in the Atlanta market.

Following Mets/Braves, TBS will showcase another NL East matchup the following weekend, when the Braves and Freddie Freeman visit the Philadelphia Phillies and Bryce Harper, Sunday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m.  Braves/Phillies will not be available in the local Atlanta or Philadelphia markets.

Upcoming MLB on TBS telecasts will also include:

  • Sunday, Aug. 16: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Los Angeles Angels at 4 p.m. (full national telecast)
  • Sunday, Aug. 23: New York Yankees vs. New York Mets (not available in the local market)
  • Sunday, Aug. 30: New York Mets vs. New York Yankees (not available in the local market)
  • Sunday, Sept. 6: Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels (not available locally in L.A.)

The network’s regular season coverage will feature a Sunday afternoon game telecast each week.

TBS will showcase one of this year’s American League Wild Card series and serve as the exclusive home of both of the 2020 American League Division Series, and the 2020 American League Championship Series.
