NBA TV's Preseason Coverage to Tip Off with Defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors & Washington Wizards in Tokyo on Friday, Sept. 30

Preseason Schedule to Feature 21 Live Game Telecasts with Appearances by
Celtics, Lakers, Bucks, Grizzlies, 76ers, Nets, Suns, Cavaliers & Heat


Original Programming Includes NBA Media Day Coverage on Sunday, Sept. 25 & Monday, Sept. 26, Team Previews, Kia NBA MVP and ROY Forecast Shows & Nightly NBA GameTime Studio Shows

NBA TV will televise 21 live preseason games, giving fans an early opportunity to see many of the NBA's new-look teams and top stars back in action, including appearances by the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.

The network's preseason schedule will tip off with the Warriors with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson against the Washington Wizards with Bradley Beal and Rui Hachimura - part of The NBA Japan Games 2022 presented by Rakuten & Nissan series - from Saitama Super Arena in Tokyo, Japan, on Friday, Sept. 30, at 6 a.m. ET. 

Additional live game highlights include:  

  • Saturday, Oct. 1 - The Milwaukee Bucks and Giannis Antetokounmpo will host the Memphis Grizzlies with Ja Morant at 8 p.m. 
  • Sunday, Oct. 2 - The network will showcase four games in one day, starting with the second game of The Japan Games 2022 presented by Rakuten & Nissan series between the Warriors and Wizards at 1 a.m. Coverage will continue later in the day with the Charlotte Hornets visiting the Celtics at 1 p.m., followed by the Toronto Raptors hosting the Utah Jazz, at 6 p.m. Later, the Suns will host Australia's Adelaide 36ers at 10 p.m.  
  • Monday, Oct. 3 - Two of the Eastern Conference's leading teams will meet when the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant host the Philadelphia 76ers and James Harden at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Lakers and LeBron James hosting the Sacramento Kings and new addition Kevin Huerter at 10:30 p.m.  
  • Thursday, Oct. 6 - The Atlanta Hawks and newly acquired guard Dejounte Murray will face the Bucks and Antetokounmpo at noon in the first NBA games ever to be played in the United Arab Emirates. The two teams will meet for a second time in the UAE on Sat., Oct. 8, at noon. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 11 - The Orlando Magic and this year's top overall NBA Draft pick Paolo Banchero will host the Grizzlies and Morant at 7 p.m., followed by the Portland Trail Blazers and Damian Lillard visiting the Warriors at 10 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 14 - On the final night of preseason action, the defending Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics and Jayson Tatum will visit the Toronto Raptors and Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Scottie Barnes at 7 p.m.

NBA TV will feature NBA Media Days coverage presented by Yahoo Sports starting Sunday, Sept. 25, beginning at 5 p.m. Chris Miles will host Sunday's coverage with analyst Sam Mitchell and reporters Dennis Scott (Golden State), Kristen Ledlow (Atlanta)and Zora Stephenson (Milwaukee).

Monday's coverage from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be hosted by Matt Winer alongside Stan Van Gundy and Brendan Haywood. Taylor Rooks will host interviews from the B/R Studios in New York, whileJared Greenberg (Brooklyn), Abby Chin (Boston), Michael C. Wright (Dallas), Ashley ShahAhmadi (Memphis), Stephanie Ready (New Orleans), Nabil Karim (Philadelphia), Steve Smith (Phoenix), Scott (LA Clippers) and Chris Haynes (Lakers) will contribute on location at team sites.

Looking ahead to the regular season, NBA TV will forecast the races for Kia NBA MVP and Kia NBA Rookie of the Year on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. The back-to-back half-hour shows will feature Miles, Haywood and Shaun Powell.

The network will preview all 30 NBA teams throughout the preseason, starting Saturday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m., with premiere episodes presented by Yahoo Sports showcasing the Lakers, Warriors, Bucks and Celtics. NBA TV is also the nightly home of NBA GameTime studio coverage.

NBA TV will televise 107 live games during the 2022-23 regular season with the league's biggest stars and top teams in action. The network will tip off its regular season coverage with a 2022 Kia NBA Tip-Off doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 22, highlighted by a matchup of rising stars as the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Dončić host the Grizzlies and Morant at 8:30 p.m. ET. Earlier in the night, the 76ers - with Joel Embiid - will host the San Antonio Spurs and Keldon Johnson at 6 p.m.
