NHL on TNT to Drop the Puck on 2022-23 Regular Season Coverage with Star-Studded Opening Week Doubleheader This Wednesday, Oct. 12
Defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche to Raise Championship Banner, Host Chicago Blackhawks at 9:30 p.m. ET; Boston Bruins at Washington Capitals to Begin Night's Action at 7 p.m.
Hour-Long NHL on TNT Face Off Presented by Verizon Pre-Game Show to Begin at 6 p.m. ET, Live Outside Ball Arena in Denver with Analysts Wayne Gretzky, Rick Tocchet, Anson Carter, Paul Bissonnette and Host Liam McHugh
NHL on TNT's second year of hockey action will begin this Wednesday, Oct. 12 with a star-studded opening week doubleheader, along with extensive pre- and post-game coverage from the critically acclaimed NHL on TNT studio team live from Ball Arena in Denver.
The biggest moments and brightest stars will take center ice on TNT throughout the season, starting with the network's first match-up featuring Alex Ovechkin - the third leading goal scorer in NHL history, now 114 away from Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record - and the Washington Capitals in their home opener against Patrice Bergeron andthe Boston Bruins at 7 p.m. Brendan Burke will be on the game call with commentary from Darren Pang and reporting from Tarik El-Bashir.
Later at 9:30 p.m., NHL on TNT will spotlight the banner raising ceremony of the 2022 Stanley Cup Champions ahead of Conn Smythe Trophy winner Cale Makar, superstar Nathan MacKinnon and the Avalanche taking the ice against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks with team captain Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Kenny Albert will provide play-by-play, along with commentary from Eddie Olczyk and Keith Jones, and reporting from Jackie Redmond.
The night's coverage will begin at 6 p.m. ET with an hour-long NHL on TNT Face Off Presented by Verizon pre-game live from Ball Arena in Denver. Host Liam McHugh will be joined by Wayne Gretzky, three-time Stanley Cup Champion Rick Tocchet, 10-year NHL veteran Anson Carter and hockey personality and six-year NHL veteran Paul Bissonnette.
The NHL on TNT studio team will also provide analysis and insights between periods during the Lexus First Intermission Report and the Discover Second Intermission Report.

B/R Open Ice
Bleacher Report and its B/R Open Ice vertical will be live during the start of the NHL season for a pair of content experiences streamed exclusively in the B/R app. It will begin on Oct. 10, when B/R Open Ice will host live highlight battles in the app spotlighting the NHL's top stars and best moments against one another, prompting fans to vote for their favorites. This will be followed by an onsite activation during the Avalanche ring presentation and banner raising, when B/R users will be treated with an alternative on-the-ice angle where they can celebrate with other fans via the interactive comment features in the app.
2022-23 NHL on TNT Schedule
For the first time, NHL on TNT will be the exclusive home of the 2023 Stanley Cup Final. TNT will also host half of the Stanley Cup Playoffs - Round One, Round Two and Conference Finals - as well as the 2023 Discover NHL Winter Classic, pitting Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins against David Pastrnak and the Bruins at Fenway Park - home of the Boston Red Sox - on Monday, Jan. 2.
The NHL on TNT weekly schedule will feature exclusive coverage on 27 Wednesday nights throughout the season. NHL on TNT will also host doubleheaders on both Tuesday, Nov. 8 - Edmonton Oilers at Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m. and Nashville Predators at Seattle Kraken at 10 p.m. - and a special Black Friday doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 25, starting with the "Battle of Pennsylvania" - Penguins at Flyers - at 5:30 p.m. and the St. Louis Blues vs. Tampa Bay Lightning at 8 p.m.
In Spring 2023, TNT will add four weeks of Sunday afternoon telecasts through March and April.
Live streaming coverage of all NHL on TNT games will be available via the WatchTNT app on mobile, tablet and connected TV devices and at http://www.tntdrama.com/watchtnt. Fans will be able to access the games whenever and wherever they desire by logging in with the username and password provided by their TV service provider.
