TNT to Present Feature Documentary "The Great Debate with Charles Barkley" - Wednesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. ET

Hall of Famer to Make His Picks for NBA's Greatest of All-Time and Celebrate Their Impact on the Game, Society & Culture

In conjunction with NBA's 75th Anniversary, Sports Emmy Award-winning analyst and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and his Round Mound Media have partnered with Turner Sports to premiere The Great Debate with Charles Barkley, a documentary film that will reframe the classic debate about basketball's greatest of all time by redefining the very concept of "greatness."

Premiering Wednesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m. ET prior to TNT's presentation of the 2022 NBA Western Conference Finals presented by AT&T 5G, the film will feature Barkley telling the stories of the players that inspired him and explaining what a debate that covers 75 years of NBA history is truly about. This film is Barkley's love letter to his NBA heroes, past and present.

Directed by multiple Emmy Award-winner Scott Boggins, the film consists of six profiles, each centered on one of Barkley's "greatest" players by decade, woven together by a roundtable hosted by Barkley with esteemed guests Spike Lee, Jackie MacMullan, and Renee Montgomery. The players' contributions will be measured by their off-the-court accomplishments alongside their on-court heroics.

"I am so proud of this film," says Barkley. "We've taken a very different approach by expanding the conversation about the GOAT to include the massive impact my top choices have made on American culture, civil rights, the business world and even our identity as a country. And it's really entertaining too."

Veteran director and producer Boggins' career spans over 25 years, having served as producer for the Sydney Olympics on NBC. From there, he moved on to produce for the critically acclaimed and genre-defining series "24/7" for HBO Sports. In recent years, Boggins garnered critical acclaim as the show runner & executive producer of Showtime's Emmy-nominated series about politics, The Circus. He has been rewarded with 12 Sports Emmys.

Producing with Barkley is his long-time agent and producing partner Marc Perman of Round Mound Media, along with Marina Grasic and Jai Khanna of Oakhurst Entertainment, Randy Becker of Level 4 Films, Boggins and Craig Jenest of Five Films, and Robert E. Morgan of Talaria Media.
