Turner Sports Nets Most Watched Western Conference Finals Game 4 on Cable Since 2013

NHL on TNT Averaged 2 Million Viewers for Avalanche Series-Clinching Victory Over Oilers

2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs Coverage on TNT and TBS Averaged 1 Million Viewers, Up 41% vs. 2021


NHL on TNT's exclusive presentation of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals - a Colorado Avalanche sweep over the Edmonton Oilers - delivered the most-watched WCF series on cable since 2015, averaging 1.8 million viewers. 

Viewership for the four-game series finished up 58% over Western Conference Finals in 2021 (Vegas Golden Knights/Montreal Canadiens, 1.1 million viewers, 6 games), and up 17% when compared with 2019 (St. Louis Blues/San Jose Sharks, 1.5 million viewers, 4 games). 

Monday's Game 4 - a high-scoring, overtime thriller - was the most-viewed WCF Game 4 on cable since 2013 (Kings/Blackhawks, 2 million viewers), averaging 2 million viewers and peaking at 2.2 million.  The four games were the most-watched Oilers games on cable of all time.

Overall, Turner Sports' coverage of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs averaged 1 million viewers through 39 telecasts, up 41% compared to similar cable-televised windows in 2021.

NHL on TNT's female viewership saw substantial increases, up 53% through comparable coverage in 2021 and up 26% vs. 2019.

Additionally, coverage of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Bleacher Report's social handle generated three times as many total engagements compared to 2021.

The Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals concludes Turner Sports' inaugural season of NHL coverage, which included significant audience growth across all networks and platforms. Turner Sports' live NHL coverage will return this Fall with the 2022-23 regular season, and will culminate with TNT exclusively hosting its first-ever Stanley Cup Final in 2023.
