HGTV Renews Hit Detroit-Based Home Renovation Series BARGAIN BLOCK and Greenlights Five-Episode Spin-off Series BARGAIN BLOCK NEW ORLEANS

Bargain Block

HGTV has ordered a new 10-episode season of its hit Detroit-based home renovation series, Bargain Block, and greenlighted a five-episode spin-off series set in the Big Easy, Bargain Block New Orleans. Both series will star renovation experts and partners Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas as they restore neighborhoods in two iconic American cities one house at a time. The series are slated to premiere in Fall 2024.

Bargain Block, which attracted more than 14 million viewers and ranked as a top 3 non-news/sports cable series among upscale P25-54 and upscale W25-54 in its previous run, follows the couple as they buy multiple run-down homes on a single block and take them down to the studs. With sound advice and support from their friend—lifetime Detroit resident and real estate expert Shea Hicks-Whitfield, the duo create affordable, stylish and fully furnished homes that are ideal for first-time homebuyers.

In Bargain Block New Orleans, Keith and Evan will take their successful business model south for the winter to help communities restore abandoned homes to their former glory. The richly historic city will present unique restoration challenges for the couple, including repairing hurricane-damaged properties, bee infestations and strict construction codes that are vastly different from Detroit. Fortunately, Shea is always a phone call or a short flight away to help Keith and Evan when tricky business decisions arise, as are a few new local friends who will help the duo navigate the city's wild ways.

“Millions of home renovation enthusiasts have tuned in to see Keith, Evan and Shea’s passion for improving Detroit communities in Bargain Block for three seasons, making it a strong ratings driver for the network,” said Loren Ruch, Head of Content, HGTV. “We know their legions of fans will want to follow them to New Orleans and watch them transform and preserve this one-of-a-kind city.”
