NHL on TNT Celebrates Hockey Day in America & International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8

Former USA Hockey Coach Tony Granato & USA Women’s Hockey Olympic Gold Medalist Abbey Murphy to Join Studio Coverage Starting at 1:30 p.m. ET 

Olympic Gold Medalist Quinn Hughes & Minnesota Wild Visit U.S. Teammate Brock Nelson & League-Leading Colorado Avalanche at 2 p.m.; Pittsburgh Penguins Host Team USA’s Charlie McAvoy, Jeremy Swayman & Boston Bruins at 4:30 p.m. 

NHL on TNT will mark the spirit of Hockey Day in America and the significance of International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8 with a star-studded doubleheader, as well as interviews and features that celebrate the great men, women and youth players driving the sport’s growth in communities across the country. 

Former Team USA head coach Tony Granato and USA Women’s Hockey Olympic Gold Medalist Abbey Murphy will join the afternoon’s studio coverage alongside analysts Darren Pang, Anson Carter and host Liam McHugh, starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. The crew will set the stage for two matchups featuring some of the biggest players in U.S. hockey.   

Throughout game intermissions, a local youth hockey team will also join the studio show to take part in the overall celebration, including helping with demos and asking questions of current players to showcase the next generation of U.S talent. 

At 2 p.m., Olympic Gold Medalists Quinn Hughes and Matt Boldy will lead the Minnesota Wild against fellow Team USA great Brock Nelson and the league-leading Colorado Avalanche. Kenny Albert, Eddie Olczyk and Brian Boucher will call the action from Ball Arena in Denver.  

Later at 4:30 p.m., Gold Medalists Charlie McAvoy, Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins will face off against the Pittsburgh Penguins from PPG Paints Arena. Alex Faust, Jennifer Botterill and Chris Mason will be on the call.
