Matt Kunitz has returned to executive producer and show run the TBS revival of Wipeout, the show he created for ABC.

He is currently engaged in a production deal with Lionsgate, the studio behind such hits as The Hunger Games, Mad Men, and Orange is The New Black.

With Lionsgate, under his Pulse Creative banner, Kunitz has executive produced three series; Kicking & Screaming for FOX, Candy Crush for CBS, and three seasons of Kevin Hart: What the Fit for YouTube, now airing on Peacock and E!.

Kunitz has three new series under development with FOX and HBO Max.

Prior to Lionsgate, Kunitz was in overall deals at Fremantle Media, Endemol USA and NBC Universal Studios.

In 2008, while at Endemol, Kunitz created Wipeout for ABC. Wipeout ran for seven seasons and was produced for forty countries, making it the third most popular game show in the world. In 2009, Wipeout was nominated for the prestigious Rose d'Or award. In 2010, Wipeout was voted by Entertainment Weekly's readers as “Reality TV's Guiltiest Pleasure.” In 2012, 2013 and 2014 Wipeout won the Kids’ Choice Award for favorite reality show. In 2014, Wipeout took home the Teen Choice Award for The Choice Summer TV Series. In addition to his duties on Wipeout, Kunitz produced 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show for ABC and Celebrity Circus for NBC.

Kunitz held a six-year deal with NBC Universal Studios. During his tenure he was the driving force behind all seven seasons of Fear Factor, which became a staple on the NBC schedule for 153 episodes. The series broke decade-old network ratings records while posting as high as 19 million viewers. In 2011, Fear Factor returned to NBC as the most successful new series launch of the season, garnering the best time slot ratings in three years.

Fear Factor was the first reality competition series to go into syndication and was joined by Wipeout.

Also at NBC, Kunitz served as the executive producer of Dog Eat Dog, Late Friday and as a consultant on Lost and Treasure Hunters.

In 1993, Kunitz joined MTV’s The Real World for the show's second season and quickly rose through the program's production ranks to become the show runner.  He was involved in five seasons of the show. His creative contributions to the pop-culture fixture helped to develop the reality television genre.  His additional credits for MTV include The Real World Reunion, The Real World/Road Rules Challenge and A Tribute to Pedro Zamora.

A native of San Diego, Kunitz graduated from the University of Southern California's School of Cinema and Television in 1990.
