80 Hours of Live Marquee Action via PGA Championship LIVE’s “Featured Groups” Coverage

Turner Sports will present multiplatform coverage of this year’s historic 100th PGA Championship with more than 100 hours of live action across TNT, the PGA Championship suite of digital products and Bleacher Report Live, Turner’s new premium live streaming service. TNT’s live coverage from Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis will include at least six hours on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 9-10, from 2-8 p.m. ET, along with third and fourth round play on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 11-12, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

This marks the 28th consecutive year of Turner Sports' coverage of the PGA Championship and TNT's 20th consecutive year televising the event. TNT commentators will include Sports Emmy Award winner Ernie Johnson and fellow host Brian Anderson, analysts Ian Baker-Finch and Billy Kratzert, with Amanda Balionis providing pre- and post-round interviews. Former Masters Champion Trevor Immelman will return as an on-course analyst.

The network’s coverage will include three-time NBA Champion and avid golfer Andre Iguodala, who will serve as a special contributor on Friday, August 10.

Special integrations commemorating 100 years of greatness of the PGA Championship are planned across all platforms, including an interactive “ultimate bracket challenge” highlighting the greatest moments in the storied history of the Championship. Designed by Turner Sports, the online destination – www.pgachampionship.com/pga100 – offers video highlights from the top 16 championships, along with an opportunity for fans to vote on the greatest PGA Championship.

 

The PGA Championship’s official digital platforms, managed by Turner Sports – PGA.com, PGAChampionship.com and the PGA Championship App – will offer extensive coverage of the event including live streaming via PGA Championship LIVE. The Sports Emmy Award-winning video experience will showcase the event’s top players via its Featured Group channels. Each day, four marquee pairings will be selected for complete round coverage with two groups in the morning followed by two additional pairings in the afternoon. New for this year, coverage will commence as players prep for their round on the driving range and putting green.

Additionally, PGA Championship LIVE – anchored by Anderson and Brian Katrek, alongside analysts Kratzert and Michael Breed – will offer dedicated live Featured Hole video coverage of Bellerive’s three-hole finishing stretch (16, 17 and 18).

Fans can enjoy live streaming coverage of the event on PGA.com and the PGA Championship app, on the Watch TNT app and on participating TV provider platforms and apps. TNT’s coverage will require viewers to log in with their user name and password given to them by their TV service provider.

 

Both daily Featured Groups and the three Featured Holes will also be available for free via B/R Live, Turner’s new premium sports OTT product for Android, iOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and mobile web.

Production Features for TNT

TNT will utilize a new 4D replay system surrounding the 15th hole to provide viewers a perspective of tee shots on the long par-4 hole, as well as Hawk-Eye Green Technology displaying live graphic overlays of Bellerive’s 9, 13, 14 and 17 greens. Additional technical features for this year’s telecast will include Toptracer technology to display ball flight and trajectory on approach shots, GolfTrax and Trackman Technology to showcase a wide range of virtual animations and analytics, including launch angle, distance, flight apex, ball speed and curve.

On-Site Fan Assist at Bellerive

Golf fans visiting Bellerive Country Club will enjoy access to a wide range of content and resources via the PGA Championship app, including an on-course player locator and “Minute-by-Minute” live reporting featuring photos, video highlights and social content. The “Golf Mode” feature embedded in the app will direct fans on how to use their handheld device without disrupting play. The app also offers weather updates and “need to know” details before visiting the event. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available at the course, servicing key hospitality and gathering areas for fans.

Driving Range Experience

A new experience will be available for fans at the PGA Championship at Bellerive Country Club’s driving range, providing fans a perspective into the players’ preround warm-up as they work with their coaches. Additionally, a video board displaying Toptracer tracking will illustrate flight path, distance and shot data for select players on the range.

Seamless Digital Delivery

The PGA’s digital products were designed with the objective of delivering compelling content and programming across all platforms in a manner that best fits golf fans’ consumption patterns and lifestyle. In addition to live video, fans can keep up with all the action on the course via an expansive catalog of real-time video highlights.

PGA Championship App Available via iOS, Android & the Roku Platforms

The PGA Championship App will be available through iOS and Android devices, as well as Roku platforms. PGA Championship video coverage will be available across all three platforms.

PGA.com Live Video & More

PGA.com’s social platforms for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram will offer a wide range of video, on and off the course, including access to the Long Drive competition (Tuesday, August 7 via Instagram TV), a “Kick Cam” of players’ shoes and real-time highlights. Facebook and Twitter LIVE experiences will capture players readying at the driving range, look-ins to PGA.com coverage, “Walk and Talk” interviews with Balionis on Tuesday and Wednesday and press conferences.

Dre Days

Golden State's Iguodala will continue his episodic Dre Days franchise, which takes fans on a variety of experiences and adventures. Dre Days initially debuted as a weekly series on TNT’s NBA coverage earlier this year, and will expand to Turner’s social media platforms for PGA Championship.
