HBO Releases Official Trailer And Key Art For ÂNGELA DINIZ: MURDERED AND CONVICTED, Debuting November 13
Based On The Brazilian Podcast “Praia Dos Ossos,” The Series Starring Marjorie Estiano Premieres On November 13
HBO has released the oficial trailer and key art for the new HBO Original series, ÂNGELA DINIZ: MURDERED AND CONVICTED. Directed by Andrucha Waddington, the six-episode series debuts THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13 on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
The series is inspired by the acclaimed podcast “Praia dos Ossos” and revisits the story of Ângela Diniz, a woman who, through her freedom and autonomy, defied the standards imposed on women and was brutally punished for it. Her final relationship ended in tragedy when she was murdered at point-blank range with four gunshots by her boyfriend Doca Street, under the claim of “legitimate defense of honor” — a case that fueled feminist movements across the country.
In the trailer, viewers can see the three phases of the socialite’s life that will be portrayed in the series, with scenes ranging from her first marriage to the trial that followed the crime’s investigation. The content also highlights Ângela’s close relationship with her mother, the period filled with parties and celebrations after her first divorce, and the beginning of the relationship between the victim and her killer.
The cast includes Marjorie Estiano as Ângela, Emilio Dantas as Doca Street, and Antonio Fagundes as lawyer and former Supreme Court minister Evandro Lins Silva. The series also stars Thiago Lacerda (Ibrahim Sued), Camila Márdila (Lulu Prado), and Yara de Novaes (Maria Diniz). Completing the cast are Thelmo Fernandes, Renata Gaspar, Tóia Ferraz, Carolina Ferman, Joaquim Lopes, Emílio de Mello, Marina Provenzzano, Maria Volpe, Gustavo Wabner, Ester Jablonski, Pedro Nercessian, Deco Almeida, Stepan Nercessian, Daniela Galli, Priscila Sztejnman, Tatsu Carvalho, Charles Fricks, and Alli Willow.
ÂNGELA DINIZ: MURDERED AND CONVICTED is an HBO Original fiction series produced by Conspiração. Written by Elena Soárez, Pedro Perazzo, and Thais Tavares, the series is directed by Andrucha Waddington, with second-unit direction by Rebeca Diniz.
