Lauren Jbara to Make NBA TV Debut as Media Day Reporter in Sacramento

NBA TV will televise 23 live preseason games, giving fans an early opportunity to see many of the NBA’s new-look teams, top picks and leading stars in action, including appearances by the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Heat and Sacramento Kings. 



The network's preseason schedule will tip off with the Dallas Mavericks with Luka Doncic facing the Minnesota Timberwolves with Anthony Edwards – part of The NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2023 series – from Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, on Thursday, Oct. 5, at noon ET.



The Timberwolves and Mavericks will meet again on Saturday, Oct. 7, at noon, in the second leg of the series from Abu Dhabi. Later that night, NBA TV will feature the Warriors with Stephen Curry and new addition Chris Paul hosting the Lakers with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at 8:30 p.m. 



Additional live game highlights include:  

  • Sunday, Oct. 8 – The Suns and Bradley Beal will visit the Detroit Pistons and Cade Cunningham in the preseason opener for both teams at 3 p.m. Later, the LA Clippers and Paul George will host the Utah Jazz and Lauri Markkanen in Honolulu at 9 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 9 – Two highly anticipated big men are expected to make their NBA preseason debuts when the Spurs and Victor Wembanyama visit the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chet Holmgren at 8 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 10 – The Heat and Jimmy Butler will host the Charlotte Hornets and No. 2 pick Brandon Miller at 7:30 p.m. Earlier in the day, the Mavericks will visit Real Madrid at 2:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 17 – The Celtics and Jayson Tatum will host the Knicks and Jalen Brunson at 7:30 p.m. 
  • Friday, Oct. 20 – On the final night of preseason action, the 76ers and Kia NBA MVP Joel Embiid will host the Atlanta Hawks and Trae Young at 7 p.m., followed by the Warriors and Stephen Curry hosting the Kings and Domantas Sabonis at 10 p.m.

NBA TV will feature NBA Media Day coverage on Monday, Oct. 2, from 1 to 5 p.m. Matt Winer will host alongside Brendan Haywood and Sam Mitchell. Taylor Rooks will host interviews from the B/R Studios in New York, with interviews planned for Jimmy Butler, Donovan Mitchell, DeMar DeRozan, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LaMelo Ball and Paolo Banchero. Additionally, Jared Greenberg (Philadelphia), Lauren Jbara (Sacramento), Nabil Karim (Boston), Stephanie Ready (Memphis), Chris Haynes (Lakers), Steve Smith (Phoenix), Michael C. Wright (San Antonio), Dennis Scott (Golden State), Carolyn Manno (New York), Andy Scholes (Atlanta) and Pierre Andresen (Milwaukee) will contribute on location at team sites.



Jbara joins NBA TV following two seasons with Bally Sports covering the Hawks, Atlanta Braves and ACC football games. She also served as a host and reporter for two seasons in Colorado covering the NHL and MLS. 



Looking ahead to the regular season, NBA TV will forecast the races for Kia NBA MVP and Kia NBA Rookie of the Year on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. The back-to-back half-hour shows will feature Chris Miles, Brendan Haywood and Shaun Powell



The network will preview all 30 NBA teams throughout the preseason, starting Friday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m., with premiere episodes showcasing the Warriors, Lakers, Suns, Bucks, Celtics and Nuggets. NBA TV is also the nightly home of NBA GameTime studio coverage.  



NBA TV will televise more than 100 live games during the 2023-24 regular season with the league’s biggest stars and top teams in action. The network’s regular season schedule will start with a 2023 Kia NBA Tip-Off doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 28, highlighted by the Knicks and Brunson visiting the New Orleans Pelicans and Zion Williamson at 7 p.m. The night’s second game will feature the Suns’ home opener with Kevin DurantDevin Booker and Beal hosting the Jazz and Markkanen at 10 p.m.
