TNT Sports Announces Commentators for 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs Presented by GEICO First Round Games on Saturday, April 19
NHL on TNT Face Off presented by Verizon Pregame Coverage to Start at 5:30 p.m. ET, Followed by First Round, Game 1s on TNT, truTV & Max: St. Louis Blues vs. Winnipeg Jets at 6 p.m. & Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars at 8:30 p.m.
TNT Sports will drop the puck on its Emmy-nominated coverage of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs featuring up to 28 First Round games, starting Saturday, April 19 with Game 1 of Jordan Kyrou and St. Louis Blues facing Connor Hellebuyck and Presidents’ Trophy-winning Winnipeg Jets at 6 p.m. ET on TNT. John Forslund will call the game, along with commentary from Jennifer Botterill.
Later at 9 p.m., coverage continues with 2024 Hart Trophy winner Nathan MacKinnon and the Colorado Avalanche visiting Mikko Rantanen and the Dallas Stars in a blockbuster rematch of their Second Round face-off in last season's Stanley Cup Playoffs. Kenny Albert will provide play-by-play, with commentary from Eddie Olczyk, Brian Boucher and Ashali Vise.
TNT Sports’ Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage will continue with a 14-game slate over five days starting Wednesday, April 23 on TBS. TNT and TBS will combine to televise a total of up to 56 games during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, culminating with TNT’s presentation of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, Presented by GEICO. Coverage will include expansive digital content and highlights from Bleacher Report, House of Highlights and B/R Open Ice all postseason long, featuring celebrity rink side correspondents, Q&As with the biggest stars on the ice and more.
Live game coverage throughout the postseason will be preceded by a 30-minute NHL on TNT Face Off Presented by Verizon pregame hosted by Liam McHugh, alongside a rotating collection of esteemed analysts including hockey icon Wayne Gretzky, Vezina Trophy winner and 2023 Hockey Hall of Famer Henrik Lundqvist, 10-year NHL veteran Anson Carter, Calder Cup Champion Paul Bissonnette, among other special guests.
The studio team will also provide analysis and insights between periods during the Lexus First Intermission Report and the Discover Second Intermission Report, and the NHL on TNT Post Game Show presented by Vanda Pharmaceuticals.
