Daegu, South Korea – 1949. We meet Ji-Ah (Jamie Chung), a nursing student struggling to suppress the malevolent spirit lurking inside her, and her mother Soon-Hee (Cindy Chang), who insists that her daughter’s otherworldly powers are the key to restoring respect to their family’s name. As American troops descend on the city, a tragedy at the hands of Atticus’ (Jonathan Majors) unit fuels Ji-Ah’s appetite for vengeance – but she and Tic, who has no memory of their violent first encounter, soon ignite an unexpected relationship that changes each of them forever.
